Buying questions

Is a 16-fiber cable the same as an MPO-16 cable?

Fiber count describes the cable; MPO-16 describes a 16-position connector with its own keying. The 16F products here use MTP-16 or MPO-16 connectors. Confirm that your equipment port is MPO-16 before ordering, as described in the MPO-16 patch cable ordering guide.

How do I choose male or female ends?

Each MTP/MPO mated pair needs one pinned (male) and one unpinned (female) connector. Check the equipment documentation and the mating connector's pins, then choose the opposite gender for that cable end.

When should I choose APC?

Choose the polish specified by the mating port and equipment datasheet. Do not mate an APC connector to a UPC connector. Fiber type alone does not determine the required polish.
